Ford FGX Falcon
Shell V-Power Racing
2017 Perth SuperSprint (Scott's first championship race win with DJRTP) -
#17 Driver: Scott McLaughlin
Biante Model Cars are very pleased to present the 1:64 Scale Shell V-Power Racing Ford Falcon FGX driven by Scott McLaughlin to win in both races at the 2017 Perth SuperSprint.
After a successful number of years driving Volvo's with Garry Rogers Motorsport, Scott McLaughlin was recruited by powerhouse team DJR Team Penske which would become known as Shell V-Power Racing for the 2017 Supercars Championship Season. The young gun driver started the year in hot form with multiple podiums and eventually scored his first championship race win with the team at Perth's Barbagallo raceway.
It was a memorable weekend for a number of reasons for the fan-favourite driver. Not only did he put in a dominant performance across the weekend's two races claiming a pole and both wins, but it was done in front of not only Australian legend Dick Johnson but American motorsport icon and team owner, Roger Penske. Seeing both Scott and teammate Fabian Coulthard spray "The Captain' with champagne on the podium after Saturday's Race 7 was a memorable sight to behold and one that Ford fans across Australia loved.
"We got the broom out this weekend and took some points," said McLaughlin of his clean sweep. "It's fantastic to get the #17 Ford in the number one spot for Dick (Johnson) and the team. I was pretty nervous about my first race in front of the big bosses (Roger Penske and Tim Cindric) but they believe in me and as a driver that's all you can ask."
