2016 SUPERCHEAP AUTO BATHURST 1000
LIMITED EDITION OF TBA PIECES
Biante Model Cars are very pleased to continue our 1:18 Scale Erebus Motorsport V8 collection with the Penrite Oil backed Holden VF Commodore driven by David Reynolds and Craig Baird in the 2016 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
It was an unusual set of circumstances that unfolded at the end of the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship season. David Reynolds had a very strong year on the track in the Prodrive Racing, Australia Bottle-O Falcon, taking out two race wins and ultimately finishing third in the Championship. ÊAll of this counted for nothing, when it was widely known that his seat at the team was gone for the 2016 season. It was a move that dumbfounded the experts and fans alike given the performances the popular driver was able to string together throughout the year.
After months of speculation that the seat in the number 14 Freightliner Racing Commodore at Brad Jones racing was his with the departure of Fabian Coulthard to DJR Team Penske, he ultimately ended up in an Erebus Motorsport V8 in the Penrite Backed VF Commodore for the 2016 season. It proved to be a lean year for results for both Reynolds and the team as they came to grips with the VF, but a podium result at the Sydney 500 season finale certainly highlighted that the ingredients are there for an exciting tilt in 2017.
We’re pleased to present the replica of the Holden VF Commodore driven by David Reynolds and Craig Baird at the 2016 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. This model will be produced in die-cast with fully opening parts in a limited edition and will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The Black and Gold Penrite Oil livery is one of the better liveries seen on track during 2016 and coupled with a driver of David Reynolds’ caliber it’s sure to be a popular release.
