This week we have four new Ford EB Falcon race cars that we’re releasing on the Biante website, two in 1:18 and two in 1:43 scale.
The 1:18 scale releases include the familiar Shell backed Dick Johnson Racing #18 car driven by Allan Grice and Steven Johnson at the 1994 Tooheys Bathurst 1000 and the Peter Jackson backed #35 1993 Sandown 500 winner driven by Geoff Brabham and David Parsons. The #18 car is the sister car to our previously released Dick Johnson / John Bowe 1994 Bathurst 1000 Winner and it is also the car that Steven Johnson drove in his debut Bathurst 1000 making it a great day out overall for the Johnson family.
Both of the 1:18 scale models have been produced in die-cast with fully opening parts, detailed engine bay, racing interior and undercarriage with #18 produced in a limited edition of 504 pieces and #35 available in a very rare 204 pieces only.
The 1:43 scale releases include two very similar looking cars albeit with their differences. They are the Dick Johnson Racing #17 car driven by Dick Johnson and John Bowe at the 1993 Tooheys Bathurst 1000 which was a race which didn’t go as well as the ’94 edition due to a collision with privateer Bill O’Brien causing their Shell Falcon to hit the wall and end their day with 96 laps to their name. Our other release is the 1993 Peter Jackson backed #35 car which was driven by Alan Jones to finish in second place in the 1993 Australian Touring Car Championship which capped a fine year for the 1980 Formula 1 World Champion taking out two round wins, three race wins, one pole and four podiums from the nine round ATCC season, an impressive year indeed.
The 1:43 scale releases come presented in our clear acrylic display case which features a stamped base plate and forms part of our Biante Motor Racing Legends series. Car #17 has been produced in a limited edition of 426 pieces with #35 coming in an edition of only 330. All of this weeks releases will be available to purchase online at from 12 Midday WST Tomorrow, Friday March 17.
