This week we’re very pleased to be releasing the DJR Team Penske Detroit / Western Star Trucks Ford FGX Falcons driven by Fabian Coulthard and Scott Pye at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix Coates Hire V8 Supercar Challenge in both 1:18 and 1:43 scales.
After a reasonably successful campaign at the Clipsal 500 with both car 12 and 17 each scoring poles in their Shell Helix liveries, DJR Team Penske arrived at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix non championship event with new liveries as part of their rolling sponsorship model for the year and hopes to carry on with the form they showed at the Adelaide round. The Coates Hire V8 Supercar challenge was broken up into 4 short races and Coulthard in particular had a very consistent showing. He finished no lower than 5th in any race for the weekend at a track he has always performed quite well at. Overall, Coulthard finished off the weekend on the podium in third position for the round while Pye cracked the top ten, in 9th position after the points from all four races were combined.
Both Coulthard’s Detroit backed FGX and Pye’s Western Star Trucks backed FGX Falcon’s looked fantastic at the AGP and they look just as good in model form replicated here in 1:18 and 1:43. As with all our DJRTP models, the 1:18 scale model has been produced in die-cast with fully opening parts other than the boot with high details. The 1:43 scale version has also been produced in die-cast with clear windows, detailed interiors and comes presented in our clear acrylic display case.
Available in a limited edition of 504 pieces each for the 1:18 scale models and only 300 for the 1:43 scale versions, each model comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and will be available to purchase online at www.biante.com.au from 12 Midday WST Tomorrow, Friday June 23.
